Vinted relisting strategy: when and how to refresh your listings

The biggest miss on Vinted is not relisting. Fresh listings get seen; an item posted a week ago is pages deep in the results. Relisting brings it back to the top for free, yet most sellers list once and hope.

Why old listings sink

Vinted wants buyers to see fresh stock, so newer listings rank ahead of older ones for the same search. After a week a listing is competing with hundreds of newer posts; after a month it is close to invisible. That is the design, and it rewards sellers who list consistently.

The free bump

Every listing can be bumped, which pushes it back up the results. It takes a couple of seconds per item. Thirty listings is a two-minute job with the morning coffee, and it keeps you visible without relisting.

When to relist rather than bump

Relisting means taking the old listing down and posting the item fresh, with the full new-listing visibility. Relist what has not sold after:

• Seven days, for popular categories such as women's clothing and the big sports brands
• Fourteen days, for mid-demand items such as men's and kids' clothing
• Thirty days, for niche items: vintage, collectables, unusual sizes

Use the relist to improve: better photos, a title with more of the words buyers type, and a price five to ten per cent lower. A relisted item with better photos and a sharper price often goes within hours.

A listing schedule

• Sunday evening: list the week's new stock
• Midweek: relist anything older than your threshold
• Friday evening: send offers to everyone who favourited something
• Saturday morning: answer messages and bump everything live

Paid boosts

Vinted sells boosts that show a listing to more buyers for a set period. For cheap items the fee eats the margin; for a desirable, well-photographed item over about £30, a short boost can pay. Whatever you spend, log it against the item so the profit is real.

Keeping it straight across dozens of listings
